The local, The Westy

The Westerton Arms is an independent, family run business.

We offer everything you would expect of a traditional Scottish pub and continue to offer friendly service and good old fashioned value for money.

We use mainly local suppliers to promote the local economy and serve the community.

The Westerton Arms building was established in 1842 and remains a local landmark on Henderson Street with the Paterson Memorial Clock outside the front door. Over the lifespan of the building it has been used as a private residence, army accommodation during the war, a hotel and a public house. In past times the car park was formerly used as a bowling green.

Our restaurant is renowned locally for good, hearty food.

We use local suppliers and produce where possible and only scotch beef, lamb and pork. We have fresh fish and fruit and vegetables delivered daily. We offer a varied menu which has a mixture of traditional homemade fayre, lunchtime snacks, grills and Scotch steaks. We have many options which are vegetarian and gluten free and can often adapt our dishes to suit. We can also create set menus to suit any budget ideal for large gatherings or coach parties and high teas etc.
